Birding at Bolarum

Birding at Bolarum

We recently undertook a short trip to Secunderabad to attend a wedding. As a keen birder I always carry my camera and lenses and take a walk each morning looking for birds where ever I go. This was one of those rare occasions when I chanced upon a tree near a church with some kind of berries. I saw some bird activity and paused to observe and was delighted to site few interesting birds. Sharing few snaps which I was lucky to click.

Copper smith Barbet, there were many on this tree.

Asian Koel (male)

Asian Koel (female)

Plum Headed Parakeets

Rufus Tree Pie

Coucal ( Also known as Bhardwaj)

Green Bee Eater

Indian Grey Hornbill

Purple Sun Bird

Rufus Tree Pie

Flame Back Woodpecker

It is rare to find so many species on one tree and that to in an inhabited area. I was delighted to get these snaps.
